What We're Teaching:
KINGS and PROPHETS
God kept His promise and brought His people into their own land. To show how much He loved His people, God raised up leaders called judges. He also raised up prophets who gave the people messages from God and helped to remind them that He was in charge. But God’s people looked around and saw other nations and wanted to be like them. So God allowed His people to have kings to rule over them, and in return God asked those kings to follow Him. In this series, kids will discover what it means for God to be the only true God and how He invites them to follow and respond to Him. Through the stories of kings and prophets, they will see how God is in charge and that He is the one who is always with us.
The memory verse: Be still, and know that I Am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. - Psalm 46:10-11
Week 1: The lesson on the Rise and Fall of Saul will teach us that God is in charge. Scripture Passages: 1 Samuel 8-10; 13; 15
Week 2: We'll learn that God helps us through the story of when David spared Saul's life. Scripture Passage: 1 Samuel 26
Week 3: The building of the Temple will show us that God's presence dwells with His people. Scripture Passage: 1 Kings 8
Week 4: Through the account of Elijah and the Prophets of Baal, we'll find that God is the only true God. Scripture Passage: 1 Kings 18
Week 5: Josiah and the Book of the Law will teach us that God delights in our obedience. Scripture Passages: 2 Kings 22-23; 2 Chronicles 34
Week 6: We'll learn that God invites us to respond to Him through the lesson about Jeremiah and the Scroll. Scripture Passage: Jeremiah 36

Kids Church
Our team uses Bible-based curriculum and weekly family interactive questions that are available on Wonder@Home. We hope SC Kids is just the beginning of a life-long, character-building, exciting journey with Jesus for your kids.
Service Times: Every Sunday at 9:30am. Check-in starts at 9:15am in the Barn for all ages from infant through 6th grade before heading off to their classrooms. If you are a new family, please plan to arrive right when check-in opens to allow for registration. Check-in closes at 10:15am.
