Home Group Questions- February 1

Date: February 1, 2025
Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:7-14
Theme: Loving people to God

Discussion questions:
1. Discuss verse 7, “We walk by faith, not by sight.” What does that mean in
practical, daily living? What are some ways your faith guides you to act in ways
that contradict or bypass what you see all around you?
2. Verse 11 says, “Knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men….” How much
does the fear of the Lord impact you and compel you to share the gospel with
people who are spiritually lost? How can you resist apathy and spiritual
compromise?
3. Verse 14 includes the phrases, “The love of Christ controls us” and “one died for
all, therefore all died.” If you are a new creation in Christ, you are dead to the old,
self-centered nature. How does this knowledge prompt you to be a living witness
for Christ, who died to save people from eternal condemnation? Be specific
about how you can be that witness in ways that are natural .

Prayer topics:
1. Thank Jesus for dying to save us and for giving us new life. Tell Him what this
means to you. Pray to know Him more deeply in His death and resurrection.
2. Confess any weaknesses or sins that interfere with your ability to love God and
love others. Ask for forgiveness and for grace to grow in sacrificial love.
3. Pray for the spiritually dead people you know to come to Christ. Ask God to give
you the willingness and opportunities to share the gospel with them and to anoint
you with the Holy Spirit to speak with God’s love and power when He makes the
way.

Actions:
1. Consider what Jesus means to you and what lost people are missing. Think
prayerfully about how to use your personal experience and the Word of God to
create a 3-minute testimony that you can share.
2. Pray for God to give you an opportunity to share your testimony with someone,
and boldly take it when it comes.
