Life Group Questions - July 5th

Ice Breaker: Tell about a time when someone sacrificed something significant for you. How did that make you feel? How did you respond?

Discussion Questions
Understanding the Message
  1. Pastor Rino asked, "Can God bless America? Should He bless America?" What do you think he meant by these questions? How would you answer them?
  2. What stood out to you most from the historical connection between the Bible and America's founding? How does this context change your perspective on our nation's current spiritual state?
  3. The sermon mentioned that "there is a curse on our land because of sin, and the only way curses are removed from land is through repentance." Do you agree with this assessment? Why or why not?

Personal Reflection
  1. Pastor Rino challenged us to think about "little deaths"—daily sacrifices we make for others. What are some "little deaths" you could practice this week?
  2. How well do you think you're living in the freedom Christ purchased for you? What holds you back from fully embracing your identity as a child of the King?
  3. When was the last time you expressed gratitude to God for specific blessings (your home, car, location, etc.)? How might a practice of regular gratitude change your perspective?

Application and Action
  1. Pastor said, "If the church rises, the nation will change." What practical steps can our small group take to be part of positive change in our community?
  2. Several ministry opportunities were mentioned:
    • Teaching in schools (even one day a month)
    • Serving in children's ministry
    • Participating in Harvest Fest
    • Joining Alpha courses
    • Life groups
  3. Which of these resonates with you? What's holding you back from getting involved?
  4. The sermon emphasized that "there is no retiring in the kingdom of God." How does this challenge the typical view of retirement? What does faithful service look like in different seasons of life?

Going Deeper
  1. Read Galatians 5:1 and 1 Peter 2:16 together. How do these verses balance freedom with responsibility? What does it mean practically to be "free" yet also "slaves of God"?
  2. Pastor mentioned that Jesus could have stopped His suffering at any moment but chose not to. How does Jesus's restraint and sacrifice challenge your response to difficult circumstances or difficult people?
