Life Group Questions - May 10th

Ice Breaker: Share a brief story about a mother figure in your life (biological mother, adoptive mother, mentor, teacher) who made a significant impact on you. What specific quality did they demonstrate?

Discussion Questions:
Understanding God's Sovereignty
  1. Pastor shared Romans 8:28 alongside Jeremiah 29:11. How does understanding that "all things work together for good" help you process difficult circumstances in your past or present?
  2. In the sermon, we learned that God put Israel in Egypt (where they wouldn't intermarry) to grow them into a nation. Can you identify a time when God's plan seemed confusing, but later you saw His purpose?
  3. How does knowing that God is "constantly thinking about you" (Jeremiah 29:11 in Hebrew) change your perspective on your current circumstances?

The Story of Moses
  1. Jochebed had to make an incredibly difficult decision to put Moses in a basket on the Nile. Have you ever had to make a painful choice, trusting God with the outcome? What did you learn?
  2. Miriam boldly stepped in to protect her brother. Who in your life has been a "protective mama" figure? How can you be that for someone else?
  3. Pharaoh's daughter adopted Moses when she had no plan to do so. Have you ever felt God calling you to step into an unexpected role or opportunity? How did you respond?

Personal Application
  1. Pastor mentioned that some people struggle with their parents' choices or their own past decisions. What does it look like practically to "let the garbage go" and embrace God's plan moving forward?
  2. The sermon emphasized that teachers, aunts, friends, and mentors reflect "God's protective love." Who in your life needs you to step into a nurturing role right now?
  3. Pastor challenged the congregation: "Stop running and start holding onto God's plan for your life." What would it look like for you to stop running from something and start trusting God's plan this week?
