Life Group Questions - April 19th

Ice Breaker Question: Share about a time when you struggled with doubt. What helped you move from doubt to faith?

Discussion Questions
Section 1: Understanding Doubt
  1. Pastor Rino said, "Doubt is dangerous because it battles against your faith." How have you experienced this tension between doubt and faith in your own life?
  2. Read James 1:6-8. What does it mean to be "unstable in all your ways" when we doubt? Can you identify areas where doubt has made you unstable?
  3. How does being "in the Word" help eliminate doubt? Share practical ways you've found to stay consistent in Bible reading.

Section 2: The Reliability of Scripture
  1. Peter appeals to his eyewitness experience of Jesus' transfiguration. Why is eyewitness testimony important for our faith? How does it strengthen your confidence in Scripture?
  2. Pastor mentioned that false teachers were telling believers to doubt things they shouldn't doubt. What are some modern "voices" that challenge the authority or truth of God's Word today?
  3. Read 2 Timothy 3:16-17. What does it mean that Scripture is "God-breathed"? How should this truth affect how we approach the Bible?

Section 3: Living as Light
  1. Pastor Rino said, "Every time you go into any place of business, you should be asking yourself, how can I bring light into this situation?" Share a recent opportunity where you did (or could have) brought God's light into a dark situation.
  2. What does it look like practically to let God's Word be "a lamp to your feet and a light to your path" (Psalm 119:105) in daily decisions?
  3. The sermon emphasized that we are the light in a dark world. What prevents Christians from shining their light? How can we overcome those obstacles?

Section 4: Obedience and Holiness
  1. Pastor Rino challenged: "What is in your life today that the Word of God has been speaking to you that you know you need to change?" (Allow time for personal reflection; sharing is optional)
  2. Why did the pastor emphasize that Scripture is not a "buffet" where we pick what we like? What are the dangers of selective obedience?
  3. Read 1 Peter 1:15-16. What does it mean to be holy in today's culture? What specific areas is God calling you to pursue holiness?
