Life Group Questions - March 29th

Ice Breaker: Share about a time when consistent practice or discipline led to breakthrough in your life (sports, music, career, etc.). How does that relate to spiritual growth?

Understanding the Text
  1. The Call to Diligence (v. 5)
    • What does it mean to be "diligent" in your faith? How is this different from earning salvation?
    • Why does Peter emphasize "all diligence" and later "all the more diligent"?
  2. The Spiritual Ladder (vv. 5-7)
    • Review the progression: faith → moral excellence → knowledge → self-control → perseverance → godliness → brotherly kindness → love
    • How does each quality naturally lead to the next? Which one do you find most challenging?
  3. The Consequences (vv. 8-9)
    • What happens when these qualities are increasing in our lives?
    • What are the dangers of spiritual stagnation? Have you experienced "spiritual amnesia"?

Personal Reflection
  1. Honest Assessment
    • On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your spiritual diligence right now?
    • What specifically takes up more of your time, energy, or money than your walk with God?
  2. The Dance with God
    • The pastor described God leading us in a "dance of discipline and diligence." What does this image mean to you?
    • How have you seen God develop these qualities in you as you've pursued Him?
  3. Self-Control Challenge
    • The sermon mentioned that "being tired is not a permit to act your ugly." When are you most likely to lose self-control?
    • What practical "time-out" strategies could help you in those moments?

Application
  1. Devotional Life
    • How's your current devotional life? Be honest.
    • What specific changes do you need to make to be more diligent in prayer, Bible reading, and worship?
  2. Brotherly Kindness
    • Is there someone in the church you struggle to love? How can you show Christ-like love to them this week?
    • What's the difference between brotherly kindness and agape love?
  3. Kingdom Focus
    • The pastor challenged: "If you're spending more time on things than on your walk with God, you better start changing things." What needs to change in your life?
    • How can you redirect resources (time, money, energy) toward kingdom purposes?

Prayer Requests & Closing:
  • Share specific areas where you need God's help to be more diligent
  • Pray for each other's commitments this week
  • Ask God to develop His character qualities in each group member
