Life Group Questions - March 8th

Icebreaker Question: Share a time when someone showed up for you in a meaningful way during a difficult season. What did that experience teach you about community?

Discussion Questions:
Understanding the Text
  1. What stands out to you most from the Acts 2 description of the early church? What seems most challenging to practice today?
  2. The sermon emphasized that we "can't truly grow without each other." How does this challenge Western individualism? Where do you see this tension in your own life?
  3. Read Philippians 2:1-4. What does it mean practically to "regard others as of more account than yourself"? Share an example.

Personal Reflection:
  1. Pastor Robb confessed his struggle with making "quick micro judgments" about people. When are you most tempted to judge others? What triggers this response?
  2. Pastor Robb shared his journey from religious "check marks" to genuine relationship with Jesus. Have you experienced Christianity as more about rules or relationship? What's the difference?
  3. "Religion always equals death." What does this statement mean to you? How have you experienced the difference between religion and relationship?

Applying Love, Acceptance, and Forgiveness:
  1. Love: "Always seeking another's highest good at personal sacrifice"
    • Who in your life needs this kind of love right now?
    • What sacrifice might God be asking of you?
  2. Acceptance: "Releasing another from the need to perform"
    • Are there people you've placed conditional expectations on?
    • How does God's unconditional acceptance of you change how you accept others?
  3. Forgiveness: "Relinquishing your desire to punish"
    • Is there someone you need to forgive? (You don't have to share names)
    • What would it look like to release them from your judgment?

Closing Exercise:
Vulnerability Practice
- If your group feels ready, take turns completing this sentence: "One area where I need Jesus' help in community is..." After each person shares, have someone pray specifically for them.
