Life Group Questions - January 25th

Ice Breaker: Share a time when you had to submit to someone else's authority or expertise (a doctor, teacher, coach, etc.). How did that experience turn out?

Discussion Questions:
Understanding the Message
  1. Pastor Rino said, "Sheep are not dumb—they are dependent." How does this change your perspective on being called a "sheep" in Scripture?
  2. What does it mean practically to live "under the mighty hand of God" versus living under your own control?
  3. The sermon mentioned both the "perfect will of God" and the "permissive will of God." What's the difference, and why does it matter?

Personal Reflection:
  1. What does your mind think about most? How does your answer reveal where your true loyalty and devotion lie?
  2. The sermon challenged us to "clothe ourselves with humility" daily. What would this look like in your everyday life this week?
  3. Reflect on the story of Naaman (2 Kings 5). Have you ever had a "Jordan River moment" where God asked you to do something humble or unexpected? How did you respond?

Application and Growth:
  1. Pastor Rino said, "Most believers in Christ don't live in His victory. They live like lepers." What areas of your life feel like you're living in defeat rather than victory?
  2. What anxieties are you currently holding onto instead of casting them on God? What makes it difficult to let them go?
  3. The sermon emphasized the "instead of" principle from Isaiah 61:3 (beauty instead of ashes, joy instead of mourning). What do you need to exchange with God right now?
  4. How can submission and humility actually lead to greater freedom rather than restriction?

Closing Prayer Points:
  • Pray for humility to submit to God's authority and timing
  • Pray for the ability to cast anxieties on God and leave them there
  • Pray for those who may be living in the "permissive will" of God to return to His perfect will
